The knowledge innovation virtual book club

Do your New Year’s resolutions include joining a book club? Developing new skills? Expanding your network?

‘I will happily devour a good non-fiction book in 48 hours or less if it is really gripping,’ says Sue Bramall founder of Berners Marketing. ‘And although I usually have a couple of non-fiction (legal, marketing and business) books on the go, I tend to pick these up and put them down and rarely reach the end unless I have been asked to write a review and have a deadline to meet.’

‘I find that the non-fiction books give me food for thought, so I put them down to mull over the new idea and occasionally put it into action. I tend to swap the non-fiction book with friends and we’ll chat about the author, the characters, the style and the plot - but rarely have that luxury with my non-fiction books apart from the occasional biography.’

Until now! Just before Christmas, we received the details of The Knowledge and Learning Book Club - an initiative by knowledge management guru (and fellow member of the Law Consultancy Network) Hélène Russell.

    As the book club includes an online meetup, there is an incentive to pick up the pace and get to the end of these books.

    ‘I am hoping that discussing the ideas with other professionals in knowledge-led businesses will help me crystallise the ideas and put a few more into practice,’ explains Sue.

    The membership to the book club includes:

    • four book crates a year containing;
    • access to four webinars throughout the year, plus an online discussion group to share ideas and best practice; and
    • the opportunity to meets people working in learning and knowledge sharing throughout the world in many different sectors.
